I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience here was disappointing enough that I feel I should share it. First, the night staff left a very unpleasant impression. Their behavior was unprofessional and careless, and communication was almost impossible not just because of the language barrier, but also because of a lack of basic manners and respect. I later realized that the employees actually live in the basement of the hotel, and that same basement is where breakfast is prepared. After seeing that, I completely lost my appetite the breakfast had already been poor, but after discovering where it came from, I couldn’t take another bite. The comfort level of the hotel was also far from what’s promised in the photos. The door to our room could be opened without an electric card because of how old and loose the mechanism was hardly something that makes you feel safe. The building itself is very noisy, with footsteps and doors echoing through the halls at all hours. The stairs are steep and uncomfortable, and although there’s an elevator, it was constantly out of service for one reason or another. The room we got was nothing like the photos online. It felt empty, with missing furniture no chairs, no table just bare space that made it look more like a hospital room than a hotel. There was also no complimentary water, coffee, or even cups small things, but they show how little care is put into guests’ comfort. I tried to be understanding, but the overall condition, service, and attitude made it impossible. The hotel may look okay online, but reality tells a completely different story. I do not recommend staying here

I usually try to be understanding when traveling, but my experience with this hotel left me genuinely disappointed. When we first stayed here, we already noticed serious issues from unprofessional night staff to uncomfortable rooms that looked nothing like the photos. The employees living and cooking breakfast in the basement was already unsettling enough. The breakfast itself wasn’t great, but once I found out where it came from, I couldn’t eat it again. The whole place felt careless, noisy, and poorly maintained doors that barely lock, an elevator that’s always broken, and empty rooms that look more like hospital wards than hotel accommodation. But what truly surprised me was what happened when we came back again later. We didn’t even get the chance to enter the night staff told us the payment terminal “wasn’t working,” and simply refused to let us check in. No attempt to find a solution, no professionalism, nothing. It felt like they were just looking for a reason not to take a card payment maybe to avoid dealing with receipts or taxes, who knows. Either way, it was completely unacceptable behavior from a supposed hospitality business. Between the lack of service, the poor hygiene, and the attitude of the night staff, I honestly can’t recommend this place to anyone. The photos online show something very different from reality, and the management clearly doesn’t care enough to fix even the basics. I strongly advise against staying here.

My stay at the Bali Star Hotel in Istanbul was unfortunately very disappointing. For an entire week, it was almost impossible to sleep — every night there were loud noises, shouting, fights, arguments, and very loud music coming from the hallways and the surrounding area. There is basically no such thing as quiet hours in this hotel. The breakfast was also very poor. The portions were extremely small: three very thin slices of bread, butter and jam in plastic containers, one egg, three tiny slices of cheese (about 1 cm thick), three small slices of tomato, and tea. The menu was the same every day and really unsatisfying. Additionally, there was a pipe malfunction for the whole week — the room was flooded, and the power kept going out because the breakers were tripping constantly. Unfortunately, the staff did not fix this issue during my entire stay.
