First of all: The photos of the last two people are wrong. They were at the Black Fortress and not at this horseshoe-shaped castle. Correct pictures can be found on Google Images. I didn't get that close as there was a lot of mud (end of March). Google Maps gives a shortcut on foot from the Black Fortress to this castle. But on this way you always find yourself in the Russian military base - you have to take a path around the outside.

The Pait Fortress is located near the 102nd Russian military base. The fortress looks out onto the outpost, towards the border with Turkey. The distance to the border is about 8 km as the crow flies, the view is good. The fortress is practically intact on the outside, but inside there is peeling plaster and other elements of decay, time has not spared. There is a tunnel inside the fortress that leads underground. It is partially blocked by stones. A Russian flag is installed on the top, beautifully fluttering in the wind.
