Extremely Disappointing Experience Booked a 10-day rental with Europcar (€1,286 total, €571 paid in advance). The car I reserved wasn’t available, and they made me pay €170 extra for an “upgrade” — most companies upgrade for free. I returned the car after one day due to Messe Düsseldorf parking restrictions, but their refund policy was unclear and unfair. They first refunded €715, then charged €415 again the next day, leaving me with only €300 back (about 23% of the total). They even tried to blame me for a pre-existing dent, and their customer service is impossible to reach — calls go to a call center that can’t help. Poor service, unclear policies, and zero accountability. I’ll never rent from Europcar again.

I had a very good experience with Europcar at Dusseldorf airport, it was a very easy process both for picking up and delivering the car, staff was nice and efficient, the car was almost new, clean and very well equipped for the price. No additional or hidden fees at the end, I'm renting with Europcar again next time.
