We visited Istanbul Aquarium as a family to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and honestly, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The aquarium itself is brilliant, and it’s hard to fault it in any way. Yes, it can be a little on the pricey side, but in all fairness, the experience more than justifies the cost. My advice, Take your time. There is so much information displayed throughout the aquarium, and it’s genuinely interesting if you stop to read it. The layout is well thought out, with many different sections to explore, so you can easily spend a large part of your day here. Of course, if you’re visiting with children, a bit of patience is required—but that comes with the territory! One of my personal highlights was definitely the penguins. I couldn’t believe how fast they were, especially when they jumped into the water—it was both impressive and entertaining to watch. Most importantly, my daughter really enjoyed her birthday here, and so did the rest of us. The aquarium is very family-friendly, with a café downstairs for when you need a break and a gift shop at the exit (as expected!). We also took a family photo, which was a bit expensive for what it was, but it’s completely optional—and fairly standard for places like this. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Istanbul Aquarium to families and anyone with an interest in sea life. I’d happily visit again. If marine life fascinates you even a little, this place is definitely worth your time. 🐧🌊

Visited on 1st of Jan 2026 as a family with small kid and enjoyed the experience. It’s fun not just for kids but for adults too! They don’t rip you off with ticket prices and absolutely deliver. Despite the distance from the city center it’s quite accessible by Marmaray line, it has a station literally named after it :) Loved how the whole aquarium was arranged with sections ranging from variety of Turkish marine life to sections dedicated to other parts of the world. Tropical rainforest was a cherry on top! Was a nice surprise and very well organized. Definitely recommend to visit!

I visited Istanbul Aquarium 2 days ago and it was a great experience. The aquarium is well-organized, very clean, and the themed sections are impressive. There’s a nice variety of marine life, and the walk-through route makes it enjoyable and relaxing. Definitely worth visiting, especially with family or friends.
