Visiting Eyüp Sultan Mosque was one of my first experiences in Istanbul, and it left a lasting impression. From the moment I entered the courtyard, I felt a profound sense of peace and reverence. The mosque is stunning in its Ottoman architecture and carries deep spiritual significance as it houses the tomb of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, a close companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Inside, the atmosphere is serene, filled with quiet prayers and timeless devotion. I also loved exploring the surrounding area, the narrow streets, small tea gardens, and warm local ambiance made the visit even more memorable. It truly felt like stepping back in time while still being immersed in the life of the community. Special thanks to the kind cleaner who allowed me to rest there for an hour after Fajr prayer during my travels. Such gestures make a visit unforgettable.

Eyüp Sultan Mosque is a historical complex that includes both a mosque and a mausoleum, believed to be the burial site of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad. According to the sirah, when the Prophet migrated to Medina, his camel stopped in front of Abu Ayyub’s house, and the Prophet chose to stay there. The complex is surrounded by many other graves and features spacious courtyards, an open ablution area, and a drinking fountain. The women's ablution area is quite small, accommodating only 5–6 people, and unfortunately, there was a strong smell of urine. The women's prayer section is located to the left and is also relatively small.

Visiting Abu Ayyub al-Ansari Mosque was a truly moving experience. The mosque is beautiful, peaceful, and full of history, knowing it is connected to such a revered companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The people there were very friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pious, which made the visit even more special. Being in a place with such deep Islamic significance left me feeling inspired and spiritually uplifted.
