Authentic Pakistani Gem – A Must for True Fans. A hidden gem serving uncompromising traditional cuisine. We ordered the Chicken Black Pepper Karahi; the chicken was incredibly tender, cooked in a traditional wok style with fresh black pepper that provided a deep, smoky flavor. We asked for "Pakistani spicy" and it was spot on. The garlic naan was fresh, crispy, and perfect for soaking up the rich sauce. Pro Tip: The dish is served in the traditional style with bones (which are included in the weight). Therefore, although listed as 0.5kg, it is better suited as a satisfying main course for one person rather than a shared dish. Bottom line: Very fair pricing (around €15 for a full meal including a drink and service). The food itself is 5-star quality; I rated it 4 stars only because the bone-to-meat ratio made eating a bit cumbersome. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic flavors.

Tremendous! Authentic Punjabi food in Istanbul! I stopped at this restaurant after craving desi food few days after attending my cousin’s wedding in India. Now I am writing this review as I eat my left overs. The black pepper kardai along with the tawa roti is the way to go! Very flavorful. Throughly enjoyed my meal. Service was exceptional as well. The owner was very friendly.

If you know Pakistan, really know it — then you’ll understand what I mean when I say Ali Baba Bufe takes you straight back to the great old-school restaurants of the country. The kind of places where flavor mattered more than presentation and every dish tasted like it had history behind it. I ordered the chicken biryani and beef nihari, and both were outstanding. The biryani had that deep, layered spice you don’t find easily anymore — aromatic, perfectly cooked rice, and chicken that actually absorbed the masala. The nihari was rich, slow-cooked, and comforting in the best way, exactly how it should be. Took me back to how my mother made this dish when I was a kid! To top it off, the chai was excellent — strong, fragrant, and not overly sweet — and the fresh orange juice tasted like it was squeezed right there, not from a carton. This place isn’t trying to be trendy or modern. It’s authentic, soulful food that reminds you why Pakistani cuisine is so special. If you’re craving real Pakistani/Lahore-style flavors done right, Ali Baba Bufe absolutely delivers. I will probably be there tonight again before I leave Istanbul! I recommend 100%!
